Before your lab draw

A few things to know about prep

  • Fasting Most labs require a 12-hour fast. Water and prescribed medications are fine — skip food, coffee with cream, alcohol, and supplements before your draw.
  • Cycle timing for women If you're cycling, your labs should be drawn on day 19–22 of your cycle (counting day 1 as the first day of bleeding). This window gives the most accurate hormone read.
  • Questions about your situation? If you're on hormonal birth control, perimenopausal, post-menopausal, or unsure when to schedule, call 970.364.2228 before booking and we'll help you plan.
